A robot served automatic buffering between two parallel lines. Work pieces (L=200-1250 mm) is fed through a switching transporter to a conveyor belt. A front stop hook delays the flow of work pieces until one layer has arrived. The robot lifts the layer through a vacuum yoke automatically put on pallet or in reverse order puts in work pieces from pallet.
